My submission for the Penguin adult non-fiction cover award, ‘In Cold Blood’ by Truman Capote. The ‘non-fiction novel’ details a series of murders within a farming community in 1959 Kansas, USA.

Using a close up of the the iconic black Chevrolet featuring in the novel, focusing on the subtle curves and reflections of the deep dark colours, I abstracted it to literally depict ‘cold blood’ whilst portraying the bleak and dark atmosphere of the story.
